Competition-grade Gymnasium for Pinewood Primary School

LOCAL WIN!

Students at Pinewood Primary School will soon have their own brand-new competition-grade gymnasium.

From the 2024-2025 Allan Labor Government State Budget, $8.56 million has been committed to deliver this essential infrastructure for Pinewood.

Pinewood already boasts a fantastic local school community, and this major investment will take it to the next level, providing students with more space to learn, play, and to thrive.

It's just another step towards ensuring every family in our community has access to the best facilities and opportunities.

Pinewood Primary School has been an integral part of our community since 1961, providing quality education to the youngest members of the community. The current 'Hall' at Pinewood has been serving the school and surrounding areas since the establishment of the school. It has been a fantastic space for students to learn, meet and thrive in, and has been utilised as a space for community organisations.

However, enrolments at Pinewood have jumped from 330 in 2011 to 960 in 2025, pushing the need for a more appropriate learning space to accommodate the rising number of students. This will mean more space for students to play sport, participate in music programs and meet for whole-school assemblies and events.

I would like to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of Principal Karen Jenkins, staff, families and the wider community in advocating for this project alongside me.
